Orange & Poppyseed Cake

250g Traditional Cake Mix
1 Egg
60mL Water
30mL Fresh Orange Juice
1Tbsp Orange Rind
1 Tbsp Poppyseeds


  1. Preheat oven to 180°C or 160°C fan-forced. Grease and line a 20cm round tin.
  2. Place water, egg and orange juice into mixing bowl, followed by the Traditional Cake Mix, poppyseed and orange rind.
  3. Using an electric mixer, mix on low speed until all ingredients are combined.
  4. Mix on fast speed for 5 minutes, then reduce speed to medium for a further 5 minutes.
  5. Deposit batter into prepared lined tin and smooth out batter so it is even.
  6. Bake in oven for 35-40minutes or until the skewer comes out clean. Cool cake in tin for 5 minutes before tipping out onto a wire rack to cool.
