Garlic Bread Cheesy Pull-Apart Rolls

15 mins 10-12 mins 6

Golden, buttery and irresistibly gooey, these pull-apart rolls made with Wise Wheat Hi-Fibre White Rolls are high in fibre and deliver no compromise on taste — the ultimate comfort with goodness built in.

Ingredients

2 packs Wise Wheat Hi-Fibre White Rolls (available at Woolworths stores with an in-store bakery)
60g unsalted butter, at room temperature
4 garlic cloves, roughly chopped
½ bunch flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped
½ tbsp sea salt
140g pizza blend shredded cheese mix

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C fan forced.
  2. Line a 22–28cm roasting tray with baking paper.
  3. In a small bowl, mash the softened butter together with garlic, parsley and sea salt until well combined. Alternatively, you can use a food processor.
  4. Using a serrated knife, slice into the top of each Wise Wheat Hi-Fibre White Roll about halfway through — do not cut all the way through.
  5. Gently open the cut and fill each roll with approximately 20g of pizza blend shredded cheese mix, then top with ½ tablespoon of the garlic butter mixture.
  6. Arrange the rolls snugly in the prepared tray.
  7. Sprinkle any leftover cheese over the tops of the rolls.
  8. Bake for 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and golden, and the tops are lightly crisped.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Even Garlic Butter: Use a small butter knife or piping bag to get the garlic butter deep into each cut — this ensures every bite is rich and flavourful.
  2. Cheese Melt Magic: Combine mozzarella and cheddar for that stretchy, golden melt that makes the rolls irresistible.
  3. Aromatic Boost: Add a sprinkle of garlic powder or smoked paprika before baking to deepen the aroma and flavour.

Variations

  1. Herb Lovers: Mix in oregano, basil, or rosemary to the garlic butter for an Italian-inspired twist.
  2. Spicy Kick: Add crushed chilli flakes, harissa, or a swirl of chilli oil for a little heat that balances the cheese perfectly.
  3. Bacon Twist: Add crisp bacon bits or diced pancetta to the filling for a smoky, indulgent upgrade.

Serving Suggestions

Serve warm, straight from the oven, as a shareable side or comforting appetiser. A great way to add fibre to any meal, these cheesy rolls pair beautifully with pasta dishes, soups, BBQ mains, or can be served as part of a grazing platter for parties and family dinners.

Storage

Best enjoyed fresh and hot for ultimate cheese pull and crisp edges.  To reheat, bake at 160°C for 5–6 minutes or until warmed through and the cheese is melty again — avoid microwaving to prevent sogginess.
