Beer Battered Fish

180g Allied Pinnacle Self Raising Flour
375mL Chilled Beer
4 x 100g Fish Fillets
1L Oil
Flour to coat fish


  1. Place oil into frying pan and heat to 180°C
  2. Place Self Raising Flour and beer into a mixing bowl and whisk until the batter is smooth. Rest for 20 minutes on a bench.
  3. Coat fish with plain flour and shake off any excess flour before dipping it into the batter mix.
  4. Shake off any excess batter and place coated fish into oil. Move fish with tongs to avoid the batter sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  5. Cook for approximately 5 minutes or until batter is golden brown. Place on paper towel to soak up any oil
