Quality Finished Goods Co-ordinator


An opportunity exists for a Quality Finished Goods Co-ordinator to join the Altona North Quality team.

 Job tasks and responsibilities

In this varied and challenging role, the Quality Finished Goods Co-ordinator is responsible for:

  • Manage product positive release program
  • Liaise with the site’s third-party frozen storage and transport companies
  • Review line documentation to ensure compliance to HACCP plan prior to product release. Manage HACCP pre-requisite programs as required
  • Maintain product hold and release register
  • Conduct any training in relation to Quality procedures and conduct competency assessment
  • Conduct internal audits and verification activities as requested
  • Conduct validation activities as required
  • Assist with site new product launches and post launch reviews as required
  • Work with the business quality management system, including HACCP plan
  • Manage and supervise printing of all product labelling
  • Assist warehousing with quality and food safety needs as required
  • Conduct traceability activities in warehousing both internally and with 3PLS
  • Strive for continuous improvement
  • Assist with group quality and new food initiatives as required
  • Participate in and promote a culture that adheres to the highest quality, GMP and food safety standards
  • Equipment and Personal Hygiene and Medical Screening
  • Assist in Internal Audit, GMP & Housekeeping and Foreign Matter Audits
  • Assist in 3rd party certification audits
  • Comply with all relevant legislative requirements and company policies, procedures and reasonable instructions.

Skills and experience

We are seeking someone who is assertive, confident, highly organised, and able to work well in a team environment and autonomously when required; and who has:

  • Food Science Qualification or equivalent
  • Experience in Quality & Food Safety certification standard implementation (WSE, Coles Supplier Requirements – Food Manufacturing and BRC)
  • Experience working in a complex food manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with product management systems such as M3 and SAP
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Highly organised
  • Passionate about quality and food safety
  • Seeking a career path in quality and food safety
  • Works well in a team environment and autonomously when required
