Have you ever had a ‘real’ New York bagel? New York Bagels, established in the Melbourne suburb of Fitzroy in 1992, is the Australian market leader in the baking of authentic “New York” style bagels.
Our professional staff, with a combined bagel baking experience of over 50 years, is dedicated to baking product to the highest standards using only natural Australian and imported ingredients. The bakery operates to the highest standards of health and safety and hold HACCP accreditation.
Job tasks and responsibilities
At New York Bagels we want to invest in permanent work and upskill our people so that we have high performing teams.
We are seeking food process workers with the following experience:
- Mixing – Essential
- Operating a Pastry Laminator – Desired
- Food Process line – Essential
- Industrial Baking experience – Essential
- Heavy lifting – 25kg cartons – Essential
- Completing Quality checks, including filling out paperwork – Essential
- Using ERP system (eg SAP or M3)- Desired
- Reliable and committed
- Excellent attention to detail
Day (10:00 – 18:00) – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday
Must have flexibility regarding hours
Skills and experience
Experience working within a fast paced food production environment is essential, particularly in a bakery or pastry environment.
Successful candidates will need to have excellent communication skills and enjoy working in a team environment, as well as autonomously when required.
